We just returned from Vancouver where we attended the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Convening Leaders
. Once again, our friends at PCMA outdid themselves and put on a tremendous conference.
Being from Texas, we were a little skeptical about heading to Canada in January
, but we quickly realized that Vancouver in January is beautiful (aside from a few rainy days). Our view from the Lanyon kiosk overlooked the bay and the mountains – simply outstanding.
Inside the convention center, event planners milled about, engaging in education sessions and networking. In addition to all the structured learning, there was also large pockets for continued learning, with soft seating areas and even a spot to color!
At the Lanyon kiosk in “Tech Central,” we had several dozen people participate in tech tours to demonstrate how our software works in real time. We even had one person in a Lanyon demo while they were on a FaceTime call from offsite!
Although Amy Purdy, the keynote speaker, came down with a rough case of laryngitis, the general sessions were very informative and inspirational. Not to mention, the giant video board behind the main stage was a great reveal – it gave us some inspiration for our upcoming user conference, Lanyon Live
This exceptional conference wouldn’t have been possible without a seamless and smooth registration for its 4,000+ attendees. As you know, registration is the first touch point an attendee has with a particular conference. If it doesn’t go well, it can lead to negative brand impressions before the conference begins – even with the phenomenal setting, big video boards, tech centrals, and soft seating, the memories of long registration lines would leave a lasting impression.
Choosing the right technology provider for registration is integral to your event’s success. At Convening Leaders, PCMA entrusted Lanyon to power the event’s registration. They knew we wouldn’t fail them when they needed us most. It’s telling that when event planners are putting on events for other planners, their choice is clear – they trust Lanyon.
Are you using trusted technology at your event?
