Gartner ITXPO 2013 & ACTIVE Leaders Forum & Product Summit = WOW!

Last week, we hosted a great group of clients and prospective clients. We showcased our technology and connected with our business partner, Gartner and their massive annual symposium: ITXPO.  The Gartner event is the premier IT executive conference that attracts more than 12,000 IT CIOs and senior executives, and as you can imagine, by the attendee numbers, there’s a heck of a lot of moving parts!

Then, we officially unveiled to our VIP attendees the the ACTIVE Network SMART EVENTSTM Cloud, the only cloud-based event management platform offering a complete 360-degree view across all an organization’s meetings and events activity — from small meetings to large conferences.  It has been a long time coming in our industry, but the promise of the marriage of ACTIVE Network Business Solutions technology in the cloud is unique to only ACTIVE Network.  Where else can you get the functionalities of ACTIVE StarCiteTM, the leading SMM technology, and ACTIVE ConferenceTM, the leading marketing event technology — all together in a single platform?

We were able to showcase the new SMART EVENTS Cloud user interface, conduct product demos, and feature leading-edge education sessions for our clients and prospects.  I moderated a great panel of experts on hybrid meetings, where we featured a case study of Ellucian.  Ellucian Live is the company-run annual user conference with staggering deliverables.  Consider that their annual conference has 8,300 onsite attendees, 858 sessions over 4 days (750 sessions are recorded), 77 virtual offerings and 600 virtual program registrants! Ron Mickey, Ellucian’s Conference Director, is a superstar master of hyrid events, and we were all grateful for his generosity in sharing about his program.  Our other panelists were equally as informative.

We can’t give enough thanks to Donny Neufuss, Senior Account Manager of Sonic Foundry, and Jim Kelley, Director, Global Accounts for PRG, for sharing their collective wisdom and best practices around their specific areas of support.  Sonic Foundry, also a strategic partner of ACTIVE Network, is the leading video management platform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting.  Their Mediasite platform is used by more than 2,000 enterprise customers in over 56 countries.  PRG has a proven track record of providing innovative audio, video, lighting, computer and scenic solutions for corporate meetings and events, and they have more than 40 offices worldwide.

As I write this, I have a huge smile on my face. I’m very happy with the outcome of our Leaders Forum and Product Summit.  Kudos to our Marketing team, specifically Christine Gallatig-Ottow, Barbara Heisser, Samantha Kassel and Cece Salomon-Lee for a fantastic job in orchestrating and planning this stellar event for ACTIVE Network Business Solutions.
